alternately, in %post do a 'ln -s %{_defaultdocdir}/%{name}-% 
{version} %{_defaultdocdir}/%{name}'?  that way anything that depends  
on the previous behavior will remain the same, but there will also be  
a persistent link to the latest version of the package documentation.
