[users] mplayerplug-in-3.40-1.el4.rf : what happened to AVI type mapping?

I just installed mplayerplug-in-3.40-1.el4.rf and discovered that the
MIME type mappings for video/msvideo and video/x-msvideo have
disappeared.  More specifically, firefox now runs the gxine plugin for
AVI streams -- which doesn't work so well, as FF crashes on the second
attempt to play a stream.

I checked http://mplayerplug-in.sourceforge.net/ and the page there
doesn't say anything about a change to AVI handling.

Any clues?
