Well ... I would find it annoying if drag-select started always
copying to all three of cutbuffer, primary selection, and clipboard;
but just the cutbuffer and primary is (I believe) exactly what I want.

My main interest in autocutsel is because of frustration with
selecting text in Firefox (and most Gnome apps) running on my local X
server, and then finding myself unable to paste it into apps running
remotely on vncserver displayed locally with vncviewer. Instead I
have to find an older app like xterm or xclipboard, paste the text
from the browser into that, and then select it again before finally
pasting through vnc. (The reverse, select in vnc and paste locally,
almost always works.)

I do appreciate being able to drag-select some text, choose "copy" (to
the clipboard selection) from the right-button menu, and then select
some other text to replace by "paste" -- the (now years) old cutbuffer
model would fail miserably there. OTOH I don't copy/replace that way
very often, so I like the speed of being able to left-drag-select and
then middle-button-paste without having to explicity "copy" in
between.
