Hi,

I have been installing rpmforge's apcupsd on a number of machines now (Fedora
Core 3 i386, Centos 5 x86_64).

I noticed that the most recent version in rpmforge is 3.10.18 (according to
the information on http://dag.wieers.com/rpm/packages/apcupsd/)

However, the most recent stable version is 3.14.3 (released 20 Januari 2008).

Also, the website and upstream contact mentioned on
http://dag.wieers.com/rpm/packages/apcupsd/ seem to be outdated.
apcupsd now has its own domain (www.apcupsd.org) and it's development is
hosted on sourceforge (http://sourceforge.net/projects/apcupsd).

I think it's worth updating this package, as the current package in rpmforge
is more than 3 years old.

By the way, the sourceforge page for apcupsd hosts ready to use rpms for quite
a number of distros. I have simply downloaded the prebuilt rpm for rhel5
x86_64, which installed and worked out of the box on my CentOS 5
installation. For the FC3 box I still have to maintain, I downloaded the src
rpm, built it myself and that went fine as well.

Regards,

Geert
